The Olivia Fox Album Release Show was a night of empowered woman rocking the stage. Nicki White started off the night with blues. She has a sultry yet powerful voice that stopped me in my tracks. The show was at the outside stage of Knuckleheads outdoor stage and it started raining during Nicki's set. She joked from stage if she smelled because everyone moved to the seats under the roof. She didn't let this deter her from playing a great set. She engaged the crowd with her last song "Two Fingers Up." She has a great energy on stage. If you love blues, catch her live or take a listen to her album "The Good Side of You" which came out last year.

The Rain stopped in time for Crystal Rose to take the stage. I've seen Crystal play many times, but this was the first time I wasn't running around at a festival so I got to really hear her lyrics. She opened with a jammer, her single "Come Alive." Crystal has a voice that will grab your attention, but her lyrics will keep your attention. Her set was a mix of songs to move your body to and songs filled with emotion. I was moved by her song "For Nia," a song dedicated to her friend who her committed suicide. Her songs have a sense of intimacy to them as she sings about life - topics ranged from friendships ending, God being bigger then the boxes God is often put in, and to finding yourself. Crystal Rose should be one your need to see list if you haven't seen her yet.

The night ended with Olivia Fox playing the song off their fresh album, "Carbon." The crowd was full of anticipation as Olivia Fox took the stage dazzling us with their outfits covered in sequins. Sequins weren't the only thing dazzling the crowd during their set; as always, their harmonies were flawless. They played through the whole album; it's amazing-buy it and listen to it. There was beautiful moment to vulnerability when Lauren shared about her miscarriage, the story behind "Elevator Doors." As Lauren sang the line "Waiting for the fall" she got choked up. It was powerful to see her band comfort her and she pulled it back together to finish singing "I can't control it all. Suspended in the air, just hanging by a thread." She joked "I shouldn't have told the story" and finished singing the song. I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one crying in the audience. Music has the power to heal and create community; it was visible in this song. To end the night they brought Nicki and Crystal back on the stage to sing "Not Going Down." What a night of strong, talented women rocking the stage.
