Passion Pit received a very warm welcome from Kansas City as the group had not been in town since 2015. As in their name, they brought the passion in full. Playing songs such as ‘The Reeling’, ‘Little Secrets’ and ‘Sleepyhead’ from Manners to ‘Take A Walk’, ‘Carried Away’ and ‘Constant Conversations’ from Gossamer.
Through the performance, lead Michael Angelakos gave his all, he is the embodiment of perseverance. Michael performs and creates from the heart and this energy was generously given in full through the performance. Even with the issue arising with his voice during this show, he took the opportunity with integrity and persevered, overcoming the obstacle and powered through.
The night was full of passion, joy, energy and love from Michael interacting with the crowd and the crowd roaring in passion back. The crowd sang in unison with vigor and divinity. The support was beautiful. The crowd was so respectful and compassionate to one another and especially with the artist. Ending the set with one last song for the encore, ‘To Mend Two Broken Vessels’ written for his wife and from his heart. This last song was intimately performed and the crowd quiet to hear the gentle melody.
The performance as a whole was one for the books filled with joy, high spirits and love. Be on the look out for new music with ‘Pretty Penny’ forthcoming EP on the way. KC will be anticipating the groups return. A night that will not be soon forgotten. Thank you Passion Pit for an unforgettable night.
