Saturday Night Official Showcases at Folk Alliance

Boogát's (Montreal, Canada) Latin music blends Cumbia, Reggaeton, Salsa, and Hip-hop. Their presence on stage commands attention. This is music to put your dancing shoes on for. Their music has won multiple awards.

Well loved local band, Victor & Penny with the Loose Change Orchestra (Kansas City, MO) stole hearts at their official show case. Victor & Penny have a gift of connecting with their audience making the show feel personal. Their music gives hot swing jazz a quirky, fun, modern feel. Their's a lot to love with this band.

Ana Egge (Brooklyn, NY) has recorded albums and playing for over 20 years. Her music has a way of capturing life. Their folk music feels like a sunny drive in the country on a fall afternoon.

Dar Williams (Rhinebeck, NY) has been touring for over twenty years and it shows her playing. Their is a great love for her music and work in the folk community. The room was packed - people were lining the walls, the isle, and flowed into the lobby. She played some songs with her band and a few solo. Her voice has such a warmth. Her music captures humanity in a way that only someone who has traveled the country for so long can.

The Crane Wives (Grand Rapids, MI) was another Folk Alliance favorite of I Love KC Music. This folk rock band's chemistry can be felt in the audience and their love of music can be seen on stage. Their song Sleeping Giants stole I Love KC Music's heart. This is a band to watch grow!

SaulPaul (Austin, TX) is like hearing a motivational speaker in a hip hop beat. SaulPaul uses his music to push the audience forward. This gifted musician makes up songs on the spot using words from the audience.

Bon Débarras (Montreal, Quebec) played heart pounding, foot stomping good time Quebecois folk music. They infused traditional step-dancing into their set. Their energy was contagious.
