It was another charming night of music with Sofar Sounds KC. On January 19th music lovers gathered at the office of BNIM for a night of outstanding music. This was the biggest secret Sofar Sounds KC show I Love KC Music has attended so far. This show featured the music of Pageant Boys, Brent Windler, and Bob and Una Walkenhorst.
Pageant Boys usually play with lots of looping and more of an experimental dark synth pop. On this night he played a stunning acoustic set. It was raw and beautiful the way vibrant humanity shone through the music. His vulnerability had me hanging on every note. Brent Windler (of Sons of Great Dane) played a chill acoustic set that flowed smoothly from Pageant Boys. Brent had me hanging on every word as he played music to the stories he sang. Bob (of the Rainmakers) and Una Walkenhorst are a father/daughter folk duo with a timeless sound. I was spellbound by beauty of their harmonies and the power of their voices. This was a special night of music.
