Freight Train Rabbit Killer 7-Inch Release Show
Freight Train Rabbit Killer released their first of four 7-inch albums via Haymaker Records on October 28th at Stockyards Brewing Co. Halloween weekend was the perfect weekend for this masked duo to release their two song album into the world. This record has the songs "Old Man of the Mountain" and "Maybe It's You" on it. Stockyards was packed, some in the traditional FTRK masks, others in their Halloween costumes, but all were full of anticipation for the show to begin. GASCAN, a new punk band in KC started off the night. After a short break and Kristopher changed out of his GASCAN uniform, Mark and Kristopher played a rare unmasked set before playing their traditional masked set. This doom blues band knows how to engage a crowd in unique way. At one point some drum sticks ended up in the crowd and Tyson of Abandoned Bells/(the)medicine theory was drumming along on the floor with another costumed concert goer while the drummer (Gas Tank) from GASCAN sat in for some of the set to add percussion to the set. Although the music is dark and heavy, the energy in the room was exuberant. Check out the video for Old Man of the Mountain HERE.
